1. What is iron oxide pigment?

Iron oxide pigment is a kind of pigment with good dispersibility, excellent light resistance and weather resistance. Iron oxide pigment mainly refers to iron oxide red, yellow, black and brown four kinds of coloring pigments whose basic material is iron oxide. Iron oxide red is the main pigment (about 50% of iron oxide pigment), mica iron oxide used as antirust pigment and magnetic iron oxide used as magnetic record material also belong to the category of iron oxide pigment. Iron oxide is the second largest inorganic pigment after titanium dioxide, and also the first largest colored inorganic pigment. Among all consumed iron oxide pigments, more than 70% are prepared by chemical synthesis method, which is called synthetic iron oxide. Synthetic iron oxide is widely used in building materials, coatings, plastics, electronics, tobacco, medicine, rubber, ceramics, printing ink, magnetic materials, paper making and other fields due to its high synthetic purity, even and neat particle size, wide chromatography, rich colors, inexpensive, non-toxic, excellent coloring and application properties, as well as ultraviolet ray absorption and other properties.
